MiniScan Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 29, 2026
Developer: M-Square

MiniScan ("we", "our", or "the app") is a document scanner for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your choices. By using MiniScan, you agree to this policy.

Summary

Information the app handles

Documents and images you scan

When you scan or import a document, MiniScan saves page images in the app's private storage on your device (filesDir/documents/). These files remain on your device unless you delete them or uninstall the app.

Camera and gallery access

MiniScan uses the device camera and gallery import through the Google ML Kit Document Scanner flow so you can capture or select documents. The scanner UI may show that it only accesses images you choose to scan.

Exported and shared files

When you export or share a document as an image or PDF, MiniScan creates temporary files in the app's cache and opens the system share sheet. Any app you share with is outside MiniScan and governed by that app's policies.

What we do not collect

MiniScan does not include:

Third-party services

Document scanning is provided through Google Play services — ML Kit Document Scanner. Google may process data according to its own policies when delivering or updating Play services components. See Google Privacy Policy.

MiniScan requires Google Play services on the device for scanning features.

Data retention and deletion

Children's privacy

MiniScan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Document files are stored in the app's private app storage, which other apps cannot access without your permission. No method of storage is 100% secure; protect your device with a screen lock.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will be revised when changes are posted.
